In Memory: Nick Ferrara… AKA “Nick Bazoo”

Nick Ferrara, better known as Nick Bazoo, died following a car crash in Gulfport Mississippi this past Friday. Ferrara had a successful radio career which included a stop in Pittsburgh as program director of “B-94” (WBZZ 93.7) in the 1980s. He also had stops in New Orleans, and San Francisco. He had recently retired and moved to Gulfport. Ferrara was 59.

    Nick was a TRUE GENTLEMAN and PROFESSIONAL.

    Though I never worked for him; he always treated you very nice when he came across your path. I have talked with many that have had the pleasure of working with him (whether it was in Pittsburgh or State College) that enjoyed working with him.

    His life and experiences were definitely cut short. Way too short.

    I want to personally say “THANK YOU” to his family; for allowing us the opportunity of sharing a part of his life within the radio community.
