More KD thoughts

Just like the article in City Paper, I seem to have my own anonymous sources! Here are some things I’ve learned from a source regarding the current trends at KDKA Radio.

1. KDKA’s 6+ Ratings were up in the latest trends to 7.3 – the best in years – and they have been climbing since January.
2. Entercom put ALL part-time employees on hiatus across the country. Therefore Eddy Crow and other part-timers (including your p-t music hosts on WDSY, WBZZ and any p-t sports hosts on KDKA-FM.)
3. John Shumway’s departure had nothing to do with his opinion and had more to do with being a budget cut. (“Period. Paragraph.” as my source said.)
4. Entercom is very much aware of the station’s 100th birthday in November. (They made a special logo for the occasion earlier this year.) But between the COVID-19 coverage and corporate-mandated cuts, efforts to commemorate the event are up in the air.
