Shumway eats a cicada and the world goes crazy
May 21, 2019KDKA-TV (2) reporter (and KDKA-AM morning host) John Shumway did a story on the return of the 17-year cicadas on Monday during the 5:00 p.m. news. He then showed what a delicacy it was by eating one on live television. Shumway said they taste like asparagus. The clip is going viral.
There are some places in southern Ohio where people fry them in pans of butter and eat by the dozens.
