Tenaglia passes away

Radio Ink reported this morning of the death of John Tenaglia, a man remembered for his tough, yet fair approach to radio station management and his contributions to the AOR format. He also had a long and prosperous career, a big part of which began here in Pittsburgh.

It 1965 when Tanaglia became the General Sales Manager at KQV (1410). Four years later he was the GM at WIXZ (1360 McKeesport) which was owned by Westchester at that time. He moved on from there to General Cinema Corporation’s radio division.

In 1980 he started TK Communications owning stations in Texas and Florida. He sold the stations in 1995.

Mr. Tenaglia was 88 at the time of his death in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
