The Answer, my friend, is on the air

Salem signed on their new station, “1250 The Answer” last night as scheduled. The format takes over for Radio Disney who announced that they were selling all but one of the company’s stations last fall. Disney subsidiary “Sports Radio Group” sold the former WDDZ to Salem for $1 Million earlier this year. The station has adopted the WPGP callsign – a tip of the hat to 104.7 FM which, with the WPGB callsign, used to air a conservative talk format. “The Answer” is Salem’s own brand of syndicated conservative talk with voices like Mike Gallagher and Michael Medved.

With the format change comes the answer (no pun intended) to the question of where Rose Tennent would continue her career. The former partner of Jim Quinn now finds herself with a morning program called “Rose Unplugged” which will air on 1250 from 8:00 – 10:00 a.m. weekdays. (Last month Quinn launched a new online program which listeners can pay a monthly fee to listen to or pick up locally on WCNS (1480 Latrobe)..)
