As previously reported, PBRTV was alerted to an apparent explosion at the WEDO (810 McKeesport) tower (ASRN 1025884) Thursday night. Station and tower site owner Robert Stevens of Broadcast Communications, Inc. informed a station staff member that a tree had fallen on wires in the area causing a power outage to the transmitter site and tower which also houses KQV (1410), W231BM (94.1) and W227DB (93.3 McKeesport). The reported fire likely did not occur on the broadcast tower. As of this morning the stations has returned to the airwaves.

An area resident told PBRTV today that this is the third time this has happened in the course of the year. It remains to be seen if the trees in question are on the radio tower property.
