Verszyla out at WTAE

Verszyla was let go from KDKA-TV (2) in December, 2018 after 23 years with the station. Two years later he was hired at WTAE who gave him the new 4:00 p.m. weather duties when that broadcast began in 2021. However, later in 2025, the station turned that role over to Brian Hutton, Jr. leaving Verszyla to weekend evenings.
Viewers, who appreciate Verszyla’s presentation style, are no doubt already disappointed as they were in 2018 after the KDKA departure.
ain’t fair. Jeff did a wonderful job doing the weather. His sunny demeanor made the weather, no matter how abysmal, less frustrating. I think we’ll start watching Channel 11.
