Frank Lachimia served as a radio operator in the Navy during WWII, but locally he had worked for WWSW for 45 years. Mr. Lachimia died over the weekend at age 92. He is remembered for being instrumental in the construction of WWSW-AM’s (970; now WBGG) 8-tower site in Ross Township in 1947. He was also there during the first broadcasts for WWSW-FM.
