Mirrored: A Mother-Daughter Podcast About Reflecting

Pittsburgh native Molly McCloskey Barber and her daughter Brigid Barber share, with great enthusiasm, the launch of Mirrored: A Mother-Daughter podcast about reflecting. This podcast will focus on stories told by Molly; who is remembered by many as “Miss Molly” of Romper Room and Friends, the popular children’s program on WWOR-TV and in national syndication from 1981 until it went off the air in 1994. It will also feature discussions with Brigid, who is a video artist, social media producer, and writer.

Molly grew up in Pittsburgh’s North Hills and graduated from Carnegie Mellon’s Music Theater program. Brigid is a graduate of Westfield High School and The College of New Jersey.

Last fall when volunteering at Werk It: A Women’s Podcasting Festival in New York, Brigid enthusiastically called Molly and shared her idea for the podcast. The concept sprouted from her realization that she is the same age Molly was when she began her career on Romper Room and Friends. Brigid became eager to learn more about Molly’s life in the 1980s and also hopes this project will influence Molly to get back into acting, now that all her children are adults.Together the two will share memories and discuss similarities and differences of starting your career in the 1980’s versus today. They hope to influence others to tell stories and discuss milestones with their family. Molly and Brigid launched a Kickstarter to fund this project, which you can find along with more information at www.mirroredpod.com. You can find them on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter @mirroredpod.
