Funeral Services Set for Sportscaster DiFabio

Funeral arrangements have been set for one of the most legendary voices in Pittsburgh sports.
Bill DiFabio, died Monday, August 3rd at his home in Washington following a lengthy illness. He was 74.
DiFabio began his legendary “Sportscall” radio feature in 1971, which covered football, basketball, hockey, and baseball. He was also a columnist for the Washington Observer-Reporter, and later in his career, rode shotgun to morning show host Pete Povich at WJPA in Washington, delivering local sportscasts.
DiFabio is survived by his wife, Marianne Laabs, their four sons, a sister and grandchildren.
Friends will be received Tuesday, August 11th at the Beinhauer Funeral Home in McMurray from 5 to 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 12th at 10am in St. James Parish-Immaculate Conception Church.
