Greg McAtee, former on-air host, traffic reporter
June 19, 2026PBRTV has just learned about the death this morning of Greg McAtee after a 5-year cancer battle. He was 69. McAtee spent several decades in radio starting with WPIT-AM/FM (730; 101.5) as an announcer. Most listeners likely knew him for his traffic reports over the years, first with Metro Traffic/Networks, then at WWSW (94.5) and other iHeart stations, and most recently for the Audacy stations, including KDKA.
Mr. McAtee was also producer and talent in high school sports for Redzone Media, a producer for American Urban Radio Network, and also owner of his own DJ service.
He was also a proud family man, and a man of faith. He leaves behind his wife of 43 years, Robin, and three daughters.
