iHeart cuts again
June 23, 2026PBRTV hears there are more cuts at iHeart Pittsburgh including WWSW (94.5) afternoon drive host Val Porter. Porter had just moved over to 3-W-S from the morning show on sister station WDVE (102.5) after the last round of cuts in April that removed long-time 3-W-S host Mike Frazer. Also out is WXDX host Russ “Whip” Rose. Neither bio/personal page is available on the respective station websites which is usually a good indication that rumors aren’t rumors. There has been scuttlebutt about iHeart doing another national sweep on social media today.
We’ll see what happens if SiriusXM goes through with buying them as has bene rumored. They have kept DJs on their more well-known stations like Classic Vinyl. My guess is, they could just go completely automated.
That will be the stupidest move ever.
