More changes at KD

April 25, 2024 Off By Eric O'Brien

After Rick Dayton was apparently ousted on Wednesday – no doubt as Audacy trims its staff nationwide – we found more changes on the air today. Larry Richert is back to seemingly being a solo host (for now) on KDKA-AM 1020; 100.1 W261AX) with newsman Paul Rassmussen as his sidekick.

Toward the end of the morning show Marty Griffin, who has been morning show sidekick since Kevin Battle’s ouster, announced jokingly that Richert had him fired from the morning show. That couldn’t be any farther from the truth as Griffin acknowledged his recent health scare being the main culprit thereby causing him to ask for a different schedule. Griffin is now the 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. fixture with his “Get Marty” program. Which brings us back to PM Drive… who will it be? Paul Alexander switching from news to host? Colin Dunlap? Michael Bartley? The possibilities aren’t endless, but the talent is there to not be wasted.
