WPCW requests to become WPKD on September 1
July 19, 2023When WPCW (Virt: 19/DTV 11 Jeannette) ends its relationship with the CW Network at 11:59 p.m. on August 31, it will also end it with the same two letters in the callsign. Paramount has requested a callsign change to WPKD for September 1 when the station becomes independent without network affiliation. It will retain the KDKA-produced newscasts and “Nightly Sports Call,” but what will fill the rest of the day’s lineup remains to be seen.
Sounds like it will be marketed as “KD2”?
Not the plan from what I understand. At least not initially.
Since the ACC is now going to partner with the CW and show football and basketball games, will these be available on anything in Pittsburgh?
I also have that question plus the Xfinity racing series is moving to the CW channel in 2025, so Pittsburgh will be left out of everything it sounds like.
Cw is absolutely garbage get some news broadcasts with 20 news stories per hour and old movies and old TV shows … get rid of comedy and court shows
