KDKA-TV brings back the National Anthem

Historically, television stations would air the anthem and a stream of photos or videos each morning at sign-on and sign-off. As more stations went to a 24-hour schedule, the airing of the anthem clips ceased.

Following the lead of Nexstar Broadcasting, CBS has opted to air the National Anthem each day. That means KDKA-TV and its CBS sisters will air the anthem every day at 4:28 a.m. For channel 2 that means just before the weekday morning newscasts, but it will air at that time on the weekends too.
